Who we are
A Kenyan safari company, founded and run by women.
We are Monicah and Rachael, two university friends with more than 15 years of combined experience in hospitality and tourism. We started Cypress Bush Explorers in 2024 to help people not just visit Kenya, but experience it.
Every trip is private and planned around the people travelling: solo travellers, families, honeymooners, small groups and travel partners.

Ask a questionHow much does a Kenya safari cost?
Our set itineraries start from $3,650 per person sharing for the 10-day Plains to Paradise, up to $7,400 for the 9-day Opulent Kenyan Escape. The final price depends on the season, the lodges you choose and the size of your group. We send a clear, itemised quote before you commit to anything.
When is the best time to see the Great Migration?
The river crossings in the Masai Mara usually happen between July and October, although the exact timing moves with the rains each year. Resident wildlife, including lions, elephants and cheetahs, is there all year, and the dry months from January to March and June to October are excellent for game viewing generally.
Can you change an itinerary, or plan one from scratch?
Yes. Every trip we run is private and tailor-made. The itineraries on this site are starting points: we can change the parks, the pace, the lodges and the length, or build something entirely new around what you want to see.
Do you plan safaris in Tanzania as well?
Yes. We plan tailor-made safaris across Kenya and Tanzania, and can combine the two in one trip, for example the Masai Mara with the Serengeti.
Who do you plan safaris for?
Solo travellers, families, honeymooners, small groups and international travel partners. We plan every trip around the people travelling, from the pace of each day to the kind of places you stay.
What is usually included?
Most itineraries include park and conservancy fees, a 4x4 safari vehicle with a pop-up roof, a professional driver-guide, and accommodation with the meals listed. International flights, visas, tips and travel insurance are not included. Each tour page lists exactly what is and is not covered.
How do I book?
Send us an enquiry or a WhatsApp message. We reply with a proposal and a quote, and adjust it until it is right. A deposit confirms your booking, and the balance is due 30 days before you travel, as set out in our booking terms.
